If you've never experienced New Year's Eve in Times Square, it's a sight to behold. Millions of people gather to watch the ball drop at 11:59pm(EST), signifying the beginning of the New Year, while millions more watch on television. Made of Waterford Crystal, the ball is huge. It's 12 feet in diameter and weighs nearly six tons.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to shop in Times Square. Clotheshorses will be surrounded by plenty of recognizable stores, including Forever 21, Billabong, American Eagle, Quicksilver and Levi’s. For make-up and beauty supplies, Sephora, L’Occitane and MAC will no doubt do the trick. Other fun retailers range from Toys R Us and Disney to the Hershey’s Times Square Store.

Times Square is a hotbed of things to do. Stop in at Madame Tussauds where you’ll discover more than 200 wax replicas of beloved celebrities.
