Catch a wide array of live performances from emerging and established artists at SummerStage in Central Park. Founded in 1986, New York's famous performing arts festival includes live music and acts featuring everything from modern dance to American music, family programming, electronic music and spoken word. Located on 69th and 5th Ave. at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, SummerStage 2014 runs from June to August, with around 30 to 35 events, including performances by Beck, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Mark McGuire, Counting Crows, Marissa Nadler, Dawes, Delicate Steve, Pro Era, Sam Sparro & Norma Jean, Sam Sparro, Bonobo & Cibo Matto, Andrew Bird, Ty Dolla $ign, Mykki Blanco and more. In addition to the main events in Central Park, you can catch over SummerStage 100 concerts in 14 different parks throughout the five boroughs. While most SummerStage shows are privately funded and free to the general public, bigger shows may require paid admission. All shows continue despite inclement weather and will only be canceled in response to the threat of dangerous lighting. Celebrate the warm weather by attending one of New York's most popular summer festivals. For a complete SummerStage lineup, including starting times and locations, click here.
